Supporting safer futures

It was a full house for the Project Futures High Tea in November, with Sydney’s Doltone House chock-to-the-brim with generous hearts. In between dainty cakes and champagne, thousands of dollars were raised to support a Safe House for women and girls escaping forced marriages. To outline the current situation in Australia, journalist Liz Burke facilitated a panel that comprised Laura Vidal from The Freedom Partnership, Daniel Evans of the Australian Federal Police, and me. Despite the difficult facts, it was an educational and fun event, with a great outcome for at-risk women and girls.
